Purpose
Determine whether a URL potentially fits Google’s doxxing criteria and present the relevant facts accurately.
Applicable policy and verification date
Google says doxxing content can be requested when a URL contains personal information together with explicit or implicit threats, explicit or implicit calls for others to harm or harass the person, or a significant amount of aggregated personal information without a legitimate purpose. Verified 2026-10-17. (Policy; current form)
Audience
The affected person or an authorized representative.
Before you begin
Separate observed language from interpretation. Record the exact personal information and the exact words or context relevant to threats, calls for harm/harassment, or aggregation. Do not characterize criticism, insults, or negative reporting as doxxing unless the stated policy elements are present.
Prerequisites
- Personal information is present on the submitted URL.
- At least one stated doxxing circumstance is supportable from the page or domain context.
- The requester has the specific URL and authority to submit.
Required inputs and evidence
The current form’s doxxing branch asks whether malicious or threatening intent is expressed, requests the specific content URL, asks the requester to identify relevant text, and can request Search-results URLs, search terms, screenshots, or supporting files such as a police report. Provide only what is responsive; a police report is not stated as universally required.
Procedure
- Capture the exact source URL and observed date.
- Identify the personal information on the page.
- Quote only the minimum relevant threatening or inciting text, or inventory the categories of information that form the significant aggregation.
- Explain the connection between the personal information and the relevant threat, call, or aggregation context. Do not speculate about the author’s identity or motive.
- Open the detailed removal form, select personal information, and answer the doxxing question according to the evidence.
- Supply each requested URL, search term, screenshot, and supporting item. Use one URL per line where the form directs.
- Confirm accuracy and authority, submit, and preserve the confirmation.
Expected result
Google reviews the specific URLs, including any public-interest considerations, and sends an action notice, a request for more information, or a reason the content did not meet removal requirements.
Next steps
Use Request status. If multiple URLs repeat the same material, document each URL separately. If the source changes, switch to Refresh outdated results.
Troubleshooting and exceptions
- Threats can be explicit or implicit; explain observable context rather than inventing intent.
- Google publishes no numeric threshold for “significant amount.” List the categories and let the reviewer assess them.
- Public interest is a review factor, not a reason to omit accurate context.
- Do not fabricate authorization, threats, search terms, screenshots, or supporting documents.
