Purpose
Locate the official status channel, respond to information requests, and avoid duplicate submissions that add no new facts.
Applicable policy and verification date
Results about you publishes four statuses and shows request details. The detailed form describes confirmation, review, possible follow-up, and decision notification. Legal requests receive an email confirmation and reference number. Verified 2026-10-17. (Results about you; form; Legal Help)
Audience
Requesters and authorized representatives after submission.
Before you begin
Find the submission channel, date, confirmation email, request ID/reference number, and submitted URL list.
Prerequisites
- Access to the account or email used for submission.
- A case log linking every URL to the request.
Required inputs and evidence
Record channel, request identifier, submission time, current status, Google’s latest message, response deadline if stated, and next action. Do not reproduce sensitive data from the request into an unsecured tracker.
Procedure
- Check the inbox and spam/junk folder used for the submission.
- Complete email verification if the detailed form instructs you to do so.
- For Results about you, open the feature and select Removal requests. Review the status and request details.
- For outdated-content requests, open the Refresh Outdated Content status page while signed in.
- For detailed policy or legal requests, use the confirmation email and reference number for correspondence.
- If Google asks for more information, answer the specific question and include the existing identifier. Verify every added URL and attachment.
- Update the case log after each observable change.
- Do not create a duplicate request merely because no decision time was promised.
Expected result
The case record matches the official channel: Results about you may display In progress, Approved, Denied, or Undone; other routes communicate by email or their own status tool.
Next steps
For a final notice, use Decision outcomes. For missing or ambiguous status, use Troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting and exceptions
- Google publishes confirmation timing for Results about you but no general decision deadline in the reviewed personal-content pages.
- An approved Results about you item can take a few hours to disappear according to Google; verify the actual result before opening a new case.
- “Undone” means a removal request was reversed in Results about you, not that the source page was deleted.
- A legal request may need separate notices for each Google product.
