Purpose

Assess and report a Google Search result that exposes the affected person’s home address, phone number, or email address.

Applicable policy and verification date

Google lists address, phone number, and email as private information that can be requested for removal. Results about you supports finding and requesting removal of personal contact information, subject to availability and review requirements. Verified 2026-10-17. (Policy; Results about you)

Audience

The affected adult, or an authorized representative using the detailed form. Requests for a person under 18 should use the detailed form rather than relying on Results about you.

Before you begin

Open the result and the source page. Confirm that the contact detail is still present and belongs to the affected person. If the page has changed, use Refresh outdated results. If the affected person controls the page, change it at source.

Prerequisites

  • A specific source URL, not only a site homepage.
  • The exact exposed contact detail as it appears.
  • Authority to act for the person identified.
  • A route choice: Results about you or the detailed form.

Required inputs and evidence

Record the source URL, Google result context, information category, observed date, and a representative screenshot. The detailed form can request source URLs, Search-results URLs, search terms, and screenshots depending on the selected branch. (Current form)

Procedure

  1. Compare the result with the live source and record the precise URL.
  2. Confirm the information is a home address, phone number, or email belonging to the affected person.
  3. If submitting for yourself and Results about you is available, follow Results about you.
  4. Otherwise open the detailed removal form, select the personal-information reason, and choose the matching contact-information category.
  5. Enter the contact information exactly as it appears where the form requests it. Google says one exposed contact type is sufficient when multiple types occur on the same result.
  6. Supply the specific URLs and other requested evidence; review the accuracy confirmation before submitting.
  7. Save the confirmation and update the evidence log without copying more sensitive data than necessary.

Expected result

Google confirms receipt and reviews the specified result. Approval may produce broad removal or query-based removal; the source remains online unless its owner changes it.

Next steps

Use Request status. For source deletion, use Contact a website owner.

Troubleshooting and exceptions

  • A public-value source can be denied or may not offer a Remove result option.
  • Results about you can reject information the requester controls; remove it at source.
  • Professional contact information posted with intent to harm should use the detailed form, as directed by Google’s feature documentation.
  • Do not submit separate requests for the same URL solely because it contains several contact types.
